Cherry Blossom Party Time received Gold recognition in two categories in the International Cherry Blossom Festival’s official 2022 awards register: Best Video Production and Best Multimedia Component.
The register credits Larry Najera Jr. for video editing. Both honors relate to the collaborative production that brought the festival’s music and imagery to the screen.
The editing behind a shared production
A music video brings many contributions together. Editing gives those pieces their sequence, rhythm and relationship to the soundtrack. Larry’s named credit identifies his part in the finished work.
The two Gold categories recognize different aspects of the same production. The original video had also appeared in WGXA’s reporting on the festival’s move online in 2020.
