Macon Regional Crimestoppers: Mobile App Design + Development

A direct connection between community awareness and taking action.

Najera Design + Marketing designed and developed the mobile app for Macon Regional Crimestoppers, bringing the organization’s reporting tools and public safety information together on iPhone and Android. The app gives Middle Georgia residents a clear starting point for sharing information, checking alerts, and finding wanted listings.

The approach

The home screen puts the most useful actions within easy reach. Large buttons, familiar symbols, and straightforward labels guide visitors to reporting, follow-up, alerts, and phone access. The organization’s red, black, and white identity carries through the interface, with a Macon cityscape giving the opening screen a local connection.

The design also makes an important distinction visible: submitting an anonymous tip and placing an emergency call serve different purposes. The 911 confirmation screen explains that emergency calls are not anonymous before a user continues.

What the project included

• Mobile app design and development: A branded app available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Anonymous reporting access: Connections to P3 Tips for submitting information and following up on an existing tip.
• Family violence reporting: A dedicated home-screen entry for sharing family violence concerns.
• Public safety information: Access to alerts, wanted listings, and community updates.
• Fugitive search: A searchable interface with filters that help narrow the listings.
• Phone and navigation controls: Quick access to the tip hotline, emergency calling with confirmation, and navigation back to the main screen.

Putting useful actions first

The app connects residents with established Crimestoppers resources through one mobile interface. Tip submissions are handled by the external P3 Tips platform; the app itself does not collect or store the tip information.

Wanted search and news screens extend the experience beyond reporting. Visitors can browse information and return to the main actions through the bottom navigation. The paired screens below show how search controls and dated announcements fit within that structure.

Connecting the community with Crimestoppers

The app serves Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, and Twiggs counties. Funding was provided by the Peyton Anderson Foundation to help expand access to the organization’s reporting resources across the region.
